What to Expect on Sundays
SERVICE STARTS SUNDAYS @ 10am
Church services at Gateway consist of an interesting blend of traditional and contemporary styles. The atmosphere is informal, and dress is generally casual. We like to sing, and rather than using hymnals, we project all of our songs on a screen. We sing mostly choruses, with a traditional hymn included somewhere in the mix.
Pastor Doug usually preaches a series, focusing on either an entire book of the Bible, a substantial portion of scripture (such as the Sermon on the Mount), or a biography of one of the Bible characters. Occasionally, either in between series or on special occasions such as Christmas and Easter, a few topical sermons are preached.
There is a strong commitment to children’s ministries here. Concurrent with our main worship service, a Children's Church service is provided, along with nursery care for infants and toddlers. The highest standards of safety and appropriate spiritual content are maintained, and parents are always welcome to come in and observe at any time.
When all is said and done, what church is really about is relationships — both with God and with other people. The way we see it, church is family; an ever-growing and Christ-centered family. It is our goal to facilitate this aspect of community, and to learn together how best to live out the words of Jesus — “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
